Joseph Joiner drives to ninth in Red Farmer Tribute at TST
Continue his pursuit for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series title, Joseph Joiner visited Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday with his teammate Jesse Enterkin joining him for the Crate Racin' USA portion of the Jerry Goodwin Challenge.
Racing into the $5,038-to-win opener with a heat race victory, Joseph was collected in a chain-reaction tangle following a lap eight restart that resulted in an early exit. He was scored 26th in the final rundown.
Jesse came up one spot short of a transfer position in his B-Main, shifting his focus to Saturday.
For the Red Farmer Tribute on Saturday, Joseph was forced to use a provisional into the weekend finale after breaking a driveshaft in his heat race. Advancing his way into the top-10, Joiner took the green in 23rd for the $9,700-to-win A-Main and went onto pass 14 cars to register an impressive ninth-place finish.
Jesse’s night in the Crate Racin’ USA sanctioned program drew to an early close after contact while battling for a transfer position in his consolation race.
Joseph is currently four markers behind Josh Putnam for the lead in the latest Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series standings.
