The Hunt the Front teammates Joseph Joiner and Jesse Enterkin returned to Tri-County Speedway in Pollard, Alabama over the weekend. The duo would enter the track’s weekly racing event on Friday, followed by the Crate Racin’ USA Touring Series Freedom 50 on Saturday.
On Friday, Joseph started the night with a heat race win to lock into the third-starting spot on the feature grid. Jesse finished fourth in his heat race, earning him the 14th starting position for the main event. In the 20-lap feature, Joseph recorded a fifth-place finish behind Steven Jernigan, Wil Herrington, Steven Brantley, and Bo Slay. Jesse dropped one spot to finish 15th.
The following night, Joseph posted the fastest overall time in qualifying to earn the pole position for the $3,000-to-win finale alongside Steven Brantley. Jesse locked into the 16th starting spot on the feature grid via a fifth-place finish in his heat race.
Overtaking Brantley for lead at the start of the 50-lapper, Joseph went on to lead the next 48 laps before disaster struck. He was battling through heavy traffic in the closing laps when he and the second-place driver tangled with a slower car. Unfortunately, that slower car was Jesse. The incident left Joseph with a flat tire and Jesse’s car with enough damage to end his night. Joseph pitted for a new tire and finished ninth after restarting 12th for the final two-lap run to the finish.
