Joiner Fifth in XR Super Series at Gondik
Joseph Joiner was back behind the wheel on Monday night with a trip to Gondik Law Speedway (Superior, Wisc.) for the $20,000-to-win XR Super Series Super Late Model event.
Forty-two entries took part in the event, and Joseph hit the ground rolling with the second-fastest time in his group to earn the pole position for an event.
He raced to the heat race win, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the feature. Battling in the Top 5 throughout the finale, Joiner crossed the finish line with a solid fifth-place performance behind Shane Clanton, Brandon Overton, Chris Madden, and Ricky Weiss.
The performance marked his first ever Top 5 in national touring action.
On Tuesday night the final leg of the two-race swing was held, and Joseph again started the night fast by stopping the clock fifth overall in his qualifying group.
After advancing from third to second in his heat race, Joiner lined up sixth for the feature. He went on to notch an eighth-place finish in the finale
