HTF Competes in Southern Showcase

Hunt The Front pilots, Joseph Joiner and Jesse Enterkin entered the second annual Southern Showcase over the weekend at Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Ala.).

A strong field of 31 Super Late Model racers entered Friday's program. Joseph started his night by qualifying second fastest in his group before winning his heat race to earn the fourth-starting spot for the feature. In the night's finale, he advanced to a third-place finish behind Brandon Overton and Payton Freeman.

Meanwhile, Jesse Enterkin made his first Super Late Model start of the year on Friday evening. He followed up the ninth-fastest time in his qualifying group with a fifth-to-third run in his heat race, which locked him into the 10th-starting spot for the feature. Jesse raced to a ninth-place finish in the first feature of the weekend.

Saturday's action was plagued by Mother Nature, and as a result the $22,000-to-win program was pushed to Sunday afternoon.

Joiner once again hit the group running the second-fastest time in his qualifying group followed by another heat race win. Starting the feature in the third position he jumped to the lead at the drop of the green flag and paced the feature until lap 25, when he made contact with the inside wall while battling for the lead through lapped traffic. He rejoined the tail of the field and rebounded to finish fifth behind Payton Freeman, Brandon Overton, Spencer Hughes, and Josh Putnam.

Jesse had another solid night. While he missed the transfer to the feature from heat race action, a fourth-place finish in his B-Main locked him into the 24th-starting spot for the feature. Enterkin clawed his way forward to a ninth-place finish, which earned him the night's Hard Charger Award!
