Joiner 10th in Independence Day Special at Duck River

Aboard the Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors No. 10 Late Model, Joseph Joiner followed the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) on Saturday afternoon to kick off his Fourth of July weekend with the Independence Shootout.

Drawing 39 Late Models for the program co-sanctioned with the Ultimate Southeast Super Late Model Series, Joiner outran Donald McIntosh in his heat to pick up the eight-lap victory. Chasing a $10,000 payday in the feature, Joseph rallied after a mid-race tangle dropped him to the tail. He salvaged a 13th-place finish in the final 12 circuits.

Off to a hot start on Sunday at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tenn.), Joseph laid down the second-fastest time in his group before placing first in his heat. Starting the $10,000-to-win mid-season championship in third, Joiner was running in fourth when a slowly deflating flat forced him pitside on lap 23. Restarting in 15th, Joseph reeled in a 10th-place finish.

Joseph is currently third in the latest Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series point standings.
