Joseph Joiner tackles first week of Hell Tour with DIRTcar Summer Nationals

Trekking further into the Midwest, Joseph Joiner and the Hunt the Front crew joined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway for the opening event of the Hell Tour.

Stopping the clock sixth-quickest in his qualifying group, Joiner lost one spot in his heat race which pushed him to the consolation race. Needing a Top-3 showing to make the $5,000-to-win feature, Joseph recorded a sixth-place finish.

Thursday's $5,000-to-win event at Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway was cancelled due to severe weather in the area.

For the first $10,000-to-win event of the week at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.), Joiner qualified sixth-quickest in his group and finished third in his heat race. In his first-career Hell Tour main event, Joiner started from the sixth-row and brought home an 11th-place finish.

Racing his way into Saturday's $10,000-to-win main event at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway through a last chance showdown, Joseph pulled off on lap 37 and recorded a 22nd-place finish.

Sunday's event at Sycamore Speedway (Maple Park, Ill.) was also rained out after a late shower washed out the racetrack.
